There’s something incredibly special about watching your dancers perform down Main Street, U.S.A. at Disney. The energy, the excitement, the tears from parents on the curb, the pure joy from dancers living out a dream they’ll remember forever — it’s truly unlike anything else.
As a studio director and dance teacher, I’ve now experienced Disney dance trips with both children and adult dancers, and I can confidently say: it’s one of the most rewarding experiences you can create for your studio community.
But if you’re just beginning to explore the idea, it can also feel overwhelming.
Where do you start?
Who organizes these events?
How does the performance process actually work?
The good news: there are several companies that specialize in helping dance studios perform at Disney parks, coordinate travel experiences, and create memorable opportunities for dancers. Below are a few of the most well-known options to explore.
Companies That Help Dance Studios Perform at Disney
Dance the Magic
This is my personal recommendation — and the company I continue to return to year after year.
Dance the Magic has been creating Disney dance experiences since 2001 and is one of Disney’s long-standing performance partners. They offer parade performances, showcases, workshops, and events at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
What sets them apart for me is the people behind the experience.
I’ve attended two Dance The Magic events so far — one with youth dancers and one with adults — and both were absolutely unforgettable. We’re already booked again for 2026 and planning for 2027 because the experience has been that impactful for our studio.
Their team goes above and beyond every single step of the way. The organization, communication, rehearsal process, performer support, and overall energy are exceptional. More importantly, they genuinely care about the studios and dancers they work with.
Megan, Holly, Mandy, Carly, Paula, Katie, Kelly — truly the entire team — make the experience feel personal and magical from beginning to end.
The biggest thing I tell studio owners?
Dance The Magic doesn’t just feel like an event company. It feels like joining a community.
If you’re considering taking your dancers to Disney for the first time, this is the company I recommend starting with.
Disney Imagination Campus / Disney Performing Arts
Disney also operates its own official performing arts programming through Disney Imagination Campus (formerly Disney Performing Arts). These programs allow dance groups, choirs, bands, and theatre performers to participate in workshops and performance opportunities inside Disney parks.
Many travel companies and performance organizations actually work alongside these Disney programs to help coordinate the logistics for studios.
These experiences can include:
- Workshops taught by Disney professionals
- Onstage performances
- Parade opportunities
- Educational experiences focused on performance and entertainment
This route can be a great fit for studios wanting a more workshop-heavy or educational experience.
Dance the Dream
Dance the Dream offers Disney performance experiences for dance studios and teams at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Their events often include parade opportunities, rehearsals, costumes, and performer packages.
They also offer cruise performance experiences, which is a unique option for studios looking for something beyond the parks.
ShowStopper Tours
ShowStopper Tours helps performing groups coordinate Disney Performing Arts experiences, including applications, workshops, and travel logistics.
This option may appeal more to larger school-based performing groups or studios wanting more customized travel planning support.
Music Travel Consultants
Music Travel Consultants focuses heavily on educational performing arts travel and Disney workshops. Their Disney Dance Technique Workshop programs emphasize training and skill development with Disney choreographers and teaching artists.
This can be an excellent option for competitive studios or advanced training programs.
My Advice for Studio Owners Considering a Disney Trip
If you’re thinking about doing this for the first time, here’s what I’ve learned:
Start planning earlier than you think
Disney trips require time — especially when coordinating dancers, families, fundraising, costumes, travel, and rehearsals.
Think beyond the performance
Yes, dancing in Disney is magical. But the real impact comes from:
- team bonding
- confidence building
- independence
- studio culture
- shared memories
Your dancers will remember the entire experience, not just the performance itself.
Adult dancers deserve this experience too
One of the most emotional experiences I’ve ever had as a teacher was watching adult dancers fulfill childhood dreams of dancing down Main Street. Don’t overlook adult programs — they can be transformational.
Choose a company that aligns with your studio values
Every organization runs differently. Some focus more on competition-style experiences, while others prioritize community, performance quality, or educational workshops.
For me, finding a team that genuinely cares about the dancers and studio directors made all the difference.
Final Thoughts
Taking your dancers to Disneyland is a massive undertaking — but it’s also one of the most rewarding things you can do as a studio owner.
You’re not just organizing a trip.
You’re creating core memories.
You’re giving dancers an experience they’ll talk about for years.
And honestly? You’ll probably cry the first time they step onto Main Street in costume.
I know I did. 💜✨
